WINE PARADISE
There is no area in the world more closely associated with the art of winemaking than the region of Bordeaux. Located in sun drenched, south-western part of France and caressed by Atlantic breezes, the vineyards that cover the rolling hills of the region have for centuries produced France's most remarkable wines.
On this trip, cruise the Dordogne, Garonne and Gironde Rivers and cycle through six famous wine regions, where you will visit discover magical medieval towns, see many châteaux and estates and taste various excellent wines and culinary specialties of the region. Bordeaux itself is among France's most exciting, vibrant and dynamic cities, featuring pedestrianised boulevards, restored neoclassical architecture and a thriving waterfront area with chic boutiques and cafés. Half the city is UNESCO-listed, making it the largest urban World Heritage Site. Experience French "la douceur de vivre" (the sweetness of living) by boat and bike!

Stroll the medieval town of Libourne and visit its weekly market before going on an exploration of the famous Pomerol and Saint-Émilion wine areas. Cycling through this paradise for wine lovers is the perfect beginning of you trip through the vineyards of Bordeaux! Then cruise to the little town of Bourg.DAY 4 - ENTERING MÉDOCMédoc round trip, ca. 40km
In the morning, sail to Lamarque, then cycle through the Médoc wine area. Stop at one of its famous wine estates for a wine-tasting and learn all about the classifications before returning to the boat. Back on board you will sail all the way to the enchanting city of Bordeaux.DAY 6 - SWEET WINESauternes round trip, ca. 45km
Today discover the Sauternes region, where sweet dessert wines are produced. Part of the route follows the winding banks of the Ciron river, whose icy waters flow into the warmer waters of the Garonne. In the evening cruise further upstream to the scenic village of Castets-en-Dorthe, the end of the navigable part of the Garonne River.DAY 7 - BORDEAUX ORIGINSGraves round trip, ca. 35km
Today's itinerary takes you to the region of Graves, known as the birthplace of Bordeaux wines, and today's cycling leads through this "Premieres Côtes de Bordeaux" area. Visit the former residence eminent painter Toulouse-Lautrec! Your last dinner on board is in Castets-en-Dorthe.DAY 8 - DISEMBARKATION: CASTETS-EN-DORTHEDisembarkation after breakfast until 9 AM.

Today cycle the vicinity of the Côtes de Blaye vineyards. Since the Middle Ages, countless numbers of pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella have passed through this region. Make sure to visit the military masterwork of the Vauban Fortress before you return to the ship and keep on sailing to Fronsac/Libourne.DAY 7 - WINE LOVER'S PARADISEPomerol/Saint-Émilion round trip, ca. 45km
